Karl Lagerfeld showed the Chanel pre-fall 2010 collection in Shanghai. This time he used the Huangpu River and the neon-lit skyline of Shanghai as the dramatic setting. To elaborate the collection's inspiration, Karl directed a short film called "Paris-Shanghai: A Fantasy", starring Jane Schmitt as Coco, Amanda Harlech as the Duchess of Windsor, and Freja Beha Erichsen and Baptiste Giabiconi played a pair of young Chinese Aristocrats.
The clothes references some of Chinese historical clothes- Commnist Mao suits, Mongolian tapestry boots, terra-cotta army and comrade caps.
As usual Karl Lagerfeld's muse male model Baptise Giabiconi was in the show to wear the very small menswear collection.
