I’m currently obsessed right now in securing a few pieces from Korean men’s wear label D.GNAK BY KANG.D. The unique cuts of the clothes are so interesting. There is an architectural element in the tailoring of the clothes. D.GNAK BY KANG.D has one of the best pair of shorts I’ve seen so far. I would love to have them as part of my summer wardrobe. And his white shirts are beautiful. I love the geometric cut and details. Since one of my addictions is buying nice crisp white shirts, I would be really happy to own these shirts.
D.GNAK BY KANG.D. was launched by Korean designer and Parsons graduate Kang Dongjun when he went for his MBA degree in KBI on 2006. He has triumphant freshman show on Seoul Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2008. He offered a unique look on classic men’s wardrobe. The tuxedo jacket with an attached shrug that made from the same jacket is one of my favourite pieces from the show.
For Fall/Winter 2009/2010, Kang Dongjun was inspired by the mafia films like “Carlito’s Way”, “Godfather” Untouchables” and “Scarface”. Referencing the Mafioso masculinity, he offered very chic and classic clothing where jacket and coats have sculptured shoulders, slim waist and the pants are wide and roomy.
Since I can’t just simply fly to Seoul, I have been trying to find an online store that sells the label D.GNAK BY KANG.D. So if anyone knows where I could find one please send me a note. I would love you forever.
