ASIAN MALE MODELS IN MILAN, PARIS & NEW YORK FASHION WEEK SPRING/SUMMER 2011

Finding Asian models in fashion usually feel like searching for unicorns. Worst is finding a male model. I’m glad that American Vogue featured in December issue, Asian female models that are getting attention right now. But if you look at every show, editorials and campaigns, rarely you would see Asian models. You would see one or two token Asians compared to the 90% Caucasian casts. I don’t know if you could blame designers for not casting more Asians or agencies for not signing more Asian talents.

Anyway I look up almost every show in Milan, Paris and New York during Spring/Summer 2011 show and see how many they have cast. Well as you could see Philip Huang, who is one of my favourite male models is the go to Asian male model. I’m glad that the very sexy Torontonian Paolo is getting booked a lot too (thanks for the Givenchy campaigns and shows.)
